Why We Must Maintain a Healthy Diet
Hi, my name is Derek Williams. I am a former heavyweight boxing champion and the creator of ‘The Champion Mindset’ programme. I know the importance of having a healthy mind and body. It is the foundation to being successful in any field.
We have all done it, started a good training or eating plan which was going to turn us into some kind of superhero. The early morning runs, the gym class before heading to the office and the breakfast of fresh fruit and cereal. Well, something like that anyway, it sounds good.
But over time we resort to type – ‘Old habits’. An attachment to the duvet can influence the decision which prevents you from climbing out of bed to face the morning chill, or a full English breakfast, over a bowl of muesli.
I say STOP!
Our diet should provide us with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants…
As we get older, we must pay extra attention to our health, both mental and physical. This includes what fuels us, how we can endure the rigours of life in modern times. It is the nutrients that allows the ability to persist.
Physical exercise is absolutely important and a structured training plan should be scheduled into our routines. And we will visit that on another post but for now it’s about the essential nutrients that we need to ensure an all-around functioning body.
Our diet should provide us with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The various ailments that attack our bodies, the diabetes, the certain types of cancer, the skin concerns, all threatens our good health.
In our diet, we must try to include fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. Try to maintain a healthy weight and watch your calories, this will help to reduce the risk of obesity related diseases.
Remember a healthy diet can also support brain health.
Water is a must have. Men aim for 3.5 litres of fluids per day and women 2.5 litres of fluid per day.
